The subjects you shoot are what make your pictures beautiful. You have a natural eye for this art, the photographic equivalent of a green thumb. And this is very beautiful. Trees are special to me, as you know.

The soil fell away and we can see the gnarling, twisting roots. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. Way down there, there's a whole system. Reaching, thirsty, thriving, mingling. Trees are an example of perfection in nature, yin and yang, dawg. Sun above, water below, the tree takes total advantage of its environment. Oh, glorious tree, I would rub my skin against your rough, dark bark and breathe in your earthy scent. I would crawl beneath your aged, tangled feet and burrow myself a home to live in forever.

Soon it will be sleepytime for this old fellow. Winter is coming.
